HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Nothing ear (1) comes with a transparent design that stands out from the rest of the TWS crowd.
  • It offers features like ANC and incredible battery life.
  • It works with Android and iOS devices.

Carl Pei's new venture Nothing announced its first product, the ear (1), a truly wireless earbud last month, and the device is now going for pre-orders. Priced at Rs 5,999, the ear (1) true wireless earbud is among a handful of offerings under Rs 10,000 that offer a package that feels premium for its asking price.

We have already reviewed the Nothing ear (1) and loved the unique transparent design as well as the snug fit it offers. While we were unsure of the hinge's long term durability, there were not many things of concern in regards to the ear (1). It sounds decent and comes with a dedicated mobile app to offer additional custom settings. At its price, the Nothing ear (1) true wireless earbud is an easy recommendation, and in our opinion, it is among the best TWS options under Rs 10,000. You can read our full review here.

Nothing ear (1): Features

One of the biggest highlights of the Nothing ear (1) is its unique transparent design. The earbuds come with an 11.6mm dynamic driver that's built with an air chamber. The earbuds support Bluetooth 5.2 and offer an additional feature to users through the dedicated mobile app.

The ear (1) also comes with active noise cancellation, which is another highlight of these earbuds. The noise cancellation feature is available in Light mode and Maximum mode, where the Light mode is for moderate background noise while the extreme setting is for a noisy background. There's also the Transparency mode, similar to what Apple offers on its AirPods Pro.

The ear (1) true wireless earbud has been tuned for calling as well, and the company claims that users will hear a clear voice even when walking in up to 40 km/h wind. The true wireless earbud also comes with the crucial Find My earbud function that can be used via the mobile app.
